How to look after long hair in lockdown
For those of you with long hair, not being able to get a regular trim during lock down might mean that your hair is starting to feel less than glossy. Some of you may have been trying to grow your hair before lock down and now it's starting to look a little bit wild and untamed. Here are some suggestions to keep hair looking as healthy as possible until you can see a hairdresser again.
Minimise washing and use shampoo in the right way
Growing up we may have been told to wash our hair everyday but this is definitely not necessary and if you have long hair or are trying to grow your hair you only need to shampoo your hair once every 3 days or so. Our bodies produce natural oils so it's important to give them a chance to do their job. When you wash your hair focus the shampoo on the scalp as this is where sweat and dirt accumulates. Leave the ends pretty free of shampoo (particularly if they are dry) and focus conditioner here.
Use a hair mask at least once a week
